What is a minuet? A minuet is a slow, stately ballroom dance fro two in triple time, popular especially in the 18th century. Couples are welcome, but this is also open to individuals. ( as many of us will be going solo)
You will learn the minuet step pattern and then build a simple floor pattern.
Don't know what to do with this dance? Come to the Marie Antoinette Ball on November 6, check out the Marie Antoinette page for more information and to purchase your tickets.
Jim Wass has been teaching and leading dance for over 30 years. His programs have included square dance, contra dance, line dance, country-western couple dance, and period dance of the 17th, 18th and19th centuries. His most significant period dance experience has been 20 Twelfth Night Balls and other events for the Riverdale Mansion.
Jim is frequently assisted by his wife Ann, a costume historian who focuses on the Federal/ Regency period.
Jim and Ann particularly enjoy working with beginners and one-time dancers, helping them enjoy a new activity and have fun at a special event.
